Temperatures are dropping here in Minneapolis, MN and I’m writing this while looking out my window at the first snow of the season dusting my yard. As much as I love the warm sunny days of summer, I am at my core a cozy person who loves bundling up during a chilly autumn or winter day. Give me wooly sweaters, a couple blankets, a hot cup of tea, and a good knitting project while the outside resembles a snow globe and I am content.

The absolute easiest way to add a dash of cozy to your photoshoot is to throw on an oversized knit sweater or cardigan. You

can bring in your favorite piece from home, or borrow our hand-knit sweater made just for Belle Marie clients!

As I mentioned, I love curling up with knitting, and one of my first garments was a dark green off-the-shoulder sweater. Olivia thought it would be the perfect fit for boudoir portraits. There was even a day we had a model in for some marketing photos and I gave her the sweater off my back to use during the shoot!

I wasn’t ready to donate my beloved  sweater to the client closet, so over the last year, I knitted a light gray oversized off-the-shoulder sweater just for our boudoir studio. I’m not sure if you’ll find any other boudoir studio in Minnesota that has their own hand-knit sweater in their closet, but we love that it was crafted just for our client in mind! It’s now ready for any cozy beauty who wants to add softness and style to her boudoir.

We’ve also had clients bring in their own cardigans, handmade scarves, and favorite lounge pieces. These little touches make a cozy boudoir photoshoot feel even more intimate and personal.
