"I have told all my friends they should go do it at least for the experience": Ms. J's First Boudoir Photoshoot

We asked a recent client to share about her first ever boudoir photoshoot experience. Ms. J was undergoing some big life changes, that were both nerve wrecking but also exciting all at the same time. In the spirit of making positive change and prioritizing herself for the first time in many years, Ms. J booked a boudoir session at our Belle Marie Boudoir studio here in Minnesota.

I'll let her own words speak for themselves for this blog.

“I always say I should do something for myself and I am so glad I chose this opportunity. From the moment I walked through the door I felt like I was chatting with old friends. My hair and makeup was done exactly how I hoped, they pulled pieces I loved for me, the photoshoot had me feeling like a queen, and the selection process was made smooth and easy. I would recommend anyone on the fence to take the chance on yourself and at the very least you will leave feeling like a rockstar for the day!"

Why do a Boudoir?

“I don't ever do anything for myself as a single mom and I decided this year I would. I wanted to feel good in my body and push myself out of my comfort zone and this accomplished both things!”

Were you nervous before your boudoir photoshoot?

“Surprisingly, no, not really. A little on the actual day but this dissipated as soon as I got in the studio and everyone started chatting with me like old friends catching up.”

“I enjoyed that my opinions and thoughts truly felt heard and honored, it made me feel very comfortable and confident. I enjoyed all the conversations and jokes as well with everyone.”

What was the Image Reveal Like?

“When first seeing my photos I fell into my old habits of finding things I don't like. I appreciated hearing what they liked and admired and it helped push me into a more positive mindset. Some of the shots fully surprised me with how much I loved them. I enjoyed the process of narrowing things down, I am typically very indecisive, but they made it easy and helped me.”

“My album and digital photos are just for me. Granted, I have made any friend willing to see me sans clothing look, but ultimately it's for me.”

Advice for other’s considering a boudoir photoshoot?

“I would recommend anyone on the fence to take the chance on yourself and at the very least you will leave feeling like a rockstar for the day!”
